capillary forms (Robbins, 1963). Thrombosis of the cavernous spaces and any stage of organization of the thrombi may be present. Some degree of fibrosis is usual and calcification can occur as was seen in our patient on radiological examination. Considering the pathological anatomy of a haemangioma, it is possible to surmise that red-cell fragmentation could occur in such a situation as a result of coagulation in vascular channels especially when the tumour is very extensive.

Paroxysmal autonomic alterations mimicking epilepsy: a case report.
A 22-year-old male patient presented with paroxysmal hyperhidrosis, mydriasis, hypertension, and tachycardia. Cranial and cervical MRI revealed focal atrophy in the high order zone of the central autonomic network and syringomyelia. His physical and neurological examinations were unremarkable. Physiological testing included EEG, SPECT, serum/urine tests and autonomic testing. A poor response wa...

We describe a case of progressive syringomyelia following post-infectious trapped fourth ventricle (TFV), which resolved after shunting of the fourth ventricle. A 28-year-old female who had previously undergone treatment of intracerebral hemorrhage and meningitis developed a hydrocephalus with TFV. After 3 years she developed disturbance of walking and coordination. Cranial-CT revealed an enlar...

متن کاملAssessment of autonomic nervous system function in patients with non-alcoholic cirrhosis
Automatic dysfunction may contribute to the hemodynamic disturbances in cirrhosis. Tests of autonomic function were performed in 31 patients with non-alcoholic cirrhosis and 30 healthy subjects. Patients were divided into 3 groups according to child- Pugh,s classification ( A.B.C). The patients with moderate and severe cirrhosis( child B,C) had significant parasympathetic disturbance ( in the v...
